The Research Unit in Asymmetric Synthesis of the Barcelona Science Park (URSA) is a research group of the Biomedical Research Institute (IRB).

The group is leaded by Drs. Antoni Riera and Xavier Verdaguer, professors of the Departament of Organic Chemistry of the University of Barcelona. The main activity of the group is the work on enantioselective synthesis of biologically active compounds. The research is focused in the development of new synthetic sequences based on enantioselective reactions as well as the research of new methodologies on asymmetric synthesis and catalysis.
